State of Decay 2: Zombies, permadeath, and resource management

State of Decay 2, an Xbox exclusive, is a zombie survival game that uses permadeath and resource management to create a realistic experience.

Developed by Undead Labs, State of Decay 2 released on May 22nd, 2018. Even though it’s a sequel to the original State of Decay, it’s only loosely related story-wise. This third-person game puts the player in charge of a small group of survivors who build their own community.

You’re in charge of not only keeping the survivors alive by fighting the shambling undead, but also making sure your base has enough food, medicine, ammo, and other resources. Each character has their own stats and personality, and the game does a good job of making you try new people out, due to characters getting injured or fatigued as you play.
