I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream — except for this time. This time around, the ice cream is a little weird. In fact, some of these flavors are downright strange.

Recently, an ice cream shop in Ireland named Gelati, created a new flavor of ice cream in honor of Ed Sheeran. As fans of the singer might know, he’s a big fan of Heinz Ketchup. In fact, he even has a ketchup tattoo.

However, Gelati has taken that love a step further. They have created the ketchup flavored ice cream, and they even top it with a swirl of ketchup.

While you might be a bit grossed out by the thought of ketchup flavored ice cream, have no fear because I am about to share with you 19 more flavors that will either leave you scratching your head, a bit grossed out, or wondering what does that taste like.

Ketchup ice cream

So what’s the story behind this ketch up-lovers dream? This Ed Sheeran-inspired ice cream is apparently only available in Ireland at Gelati, as it was created as a way to welcome the singer back to the country. Attendees of Sheeran’s concert are even invited to try a free ketchup cone.

Some people who have tried the ketchup-flavored ice cream have said it reminds them of a Bloody Mary, so I guess there is some hope that it’s not super gross. Plus, just remember that tomatoes are a fruit, and it won’t seem quite so bad.

Lobster ice cream

Yes you read that right, it does say lobster ice cream. At Ben & Bill’s Chocolate Emporium in Bar Harbor, Maine, you can treat yourself to their famous lobster ice cream. And yes it really is famous, since it’s been featured on the Food Network.

This is a butter-flavored ice cream that is then topped with cooked lobster pieces that have also been coated in melted butter. It’s basically a frozen version of a classic buttered lobster. I would say you can’t go wrong with that, but until I have tried it I am going to have to leave that idea up in the air.

Old Bay caramel

Can’t have lobster ice cream on the list without including some Old Bay. When you think of Old Bay seasoning, maybe you think of a hearty seafood boil or just crabs loaded with this special flavoring. No matter how you think of Old Bay, I doubt your first thought was ice cream.

Well, it turns out that The Charmery in Baltimore is the home of the Old Bay caramel ice cream. This flavor is apparently offered year round, and sees the seasoning get folded into a caramel flavored ice cream. Some people say that this is the way to give the classic salted caramel flavor a run for its money. I think the idea of savory and sweet might have gone a tad bit further than I would have expected.

Cardamom black pepper ice cream

This name is going to pop up a few more times, as Sonny’s Ice Cream shop in Minneapolis seems to be able to put together some of the most interesting flavor combinations. Talk about adding some kick to your ice cream, with the spice of black pepper combining with the kick of cardamom, this particular ice cream is going to make a statement.

The cardamom black pepper ice cream is part of the shop’s everyday menu, which means no matter when you go, you can get your kick of heat with your ice cream.

Goat cheese honey ice cream

Once again, this unique flavor comes from Sonny’s Ice Cream shop. Maybe it is just me, but I would never have thought about a goat cheese-flavored ice cream. However, at Sonny’s, that is definitely on the menu.

With the tang of the goat cheese and the sweet of the honey, this is one of those flavor combinations that works, but at the same time seems so weird as an ice cream. But if it tastes good, we may as well indulge a little.
