So Credence Barebone is back in The Crimes of Grindelwald and we’re confused

We watched as Credence Barebone seemingly died in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. So what is his deal in the sequel?

Seeing Credence Barebone in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them reminded fans of the power of this series. So when he seemingly vanished at the end, we were saddened by what could have been. Flash to news about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Crimes of Grindelwald and everyone is suddenly very confused as to how he’s still ‘alive’. And understandably so.

To be fair though, when is anyone gone forever in the Harry Potter series? They come back to Harry in very many ways but this seems different. Credence seems to be back and be a major player in the new storyline. Granted, we don’t know much about it but still.

So what exactly is the deal with Credence Barebone? Maybe Dumbledore takes him under his wing since the same fate that reached Credence touched Dumbledore’s own sister. Or maybe he just managed to escape as that little bit of obscurus that we saw at the end of the film.

Whatever the case may be, it is still suspicious that Credence is featured in the promotional pictures. We’re glad that Ezra Miller is back but still. From what we know, Credence is dead and gone. So to give up that spoiler in a promo picture seems like kind of a big deal?

They could have at least revealed it in the trailer so it was a bit of a shock rather than just releasing a promo picture and having all of us think “oh I guess Credence is okay then”.
