Jason Blossom

Scholastic has already revealed that it’s going to do a prequel of sorts sharing what Riverdale was like before the viewers were introduced to everyone in season 1. However, there is one character I think would make a great story, even if we know how tragic his ending really is, and that is Jason Blossom.

All the drama that was kicked off because of the murder of Jason Blossom makes him the kind of character who deserves to really have their story told. How did he and Polly fall in love? Who was he besides a football player and Cheryl Blossom’s twin brother?

Personally, I think the story of Jason Blossom is one that we could all appreciate, even if we do know how it ends. In fact, I think it would even be interesting to learn more about how his relationship with his father fell apart to the point where his own dad would be the one to end his life.

F.P. Jones and Alice Cooper

Moving on from the Blossom family and their rather sordid history, another storyline I think would make an interesting book is that of F.P. Jones and Alice Cooper. I know this means going back in time to when these two were in high school together, but I think we all want to know more about these two.

Riverdale has given just as much focus to the adults as they have the teenagers, and that means many of us are just as invested in their storylines. One of those storylines is the history between Alice and F.P., and the fact that at one point they seem to have been friends, and possibly even more.

I think a story about F.P. and Alice would be so much fun. Getting to see how they were in high school and if they were anything like their own children would make for a great story. Was F.P. anything like Jughead is today? Was Alice the original Betty, both light and dark? These questions alone would be amazing to dive into.

The Jones family

Speaking of F.P. Jones, who else wants to know more about the Jones family? I know I do! How did F.P. and Jughead become estranged, like they were when Riverdale first started? When did the women of the family go their separate ways, and why?

There seems to be so much juiciness to the Jones family that can be explored. We need to know more about the family that gave the world Jughead Jones and his amazingly brilliant mind.

Jughead, Archie and Betty

While there are plenty of characters who deserve to have their stories told, I think the heart of the series will always be Jughead, Archie, Veronica, and Betty. With that being said I think it would be amazing if the books gave us a look at Betty, Archie and Jughead before they met Veronica. We love Veronica, but who was the original trio before they met their other leading lady?

Sure we have a prequel coming our way from Scholastic, but does this mean we will get to see more of the Jughead, Archie and Betty friendship? I think everyone would love to see how the fierce threesome became the way they are today.

With a book series acting as a companion to the Riverdale TV series, it feels as if the possibilities are endless when it comes to what stories could be told. We could get the stories of the adults before they had children and became the leaders of the town.

Then there could be side stories of characters we never seem to get enough of, like Josie and the Pussycats, or Reggie, the football player who has come up against and worked with Archie on numerous occasions. Even Polly Cooper could have her own story, as we learn about her relationship with Jason Blossom and find out how she feels being a teen mom.

Scholastic and Riverdale seem to be a match made in entertainment heaven. With so many potential stories and characters with rich and intriguing backgrounds, I think this could be the start of a long and beautiful collaboration.
