Legion season 2 episode 6 review: Chapter 14

Legion attempted to answer the age-old question: What if our choices were different from what was intended?

Every week, Legion confuses us and sends us on a journey that we don’t particularly understand. This week, we were made privy to a world of David Haller’s. Each David has a very specific life choice that alters the reality of the show that we know.

For instance, there is a David that uses his psychic abilities to his advantage and helps him grow in the company he works for. He ends up mastering his ability, but at what cost? This reality, and most the show takes on for that matter, pinpoints a problem in every world. Basically, David Haller is best in the world he’s currently in with Division 3 and Farouk.

This is the first episode of the season written solely by Noah Hawley; it reminds us of the more interesting aspects of the show. While the trippy nature of Legion roped us in and continues to bring us back week after week, it is the heart-wrenching nature of some of the themes that keep us coming back for more.

With this episode especially, we see how David’s drug addiction would have panned out had he not gotten help. We see how he could have become a shell of the man we see week after week, and it reminds us that David is at his best with Division 3 and, more importantly, Syd. Without her, David is a sliver of the man we’ve come to love week after week.
