There still isn’t the chance to play against others in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, but you can beat celebrities in the game’s leaderboard when earning points for your house.
Are you ready to take on Emma Watson?
One thing that Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is missing is the chance to play against others in the game. The challenges are all one-player challenges, playing with the in-game characters and fictional creatures. While it doesn’t look like the multiplayer gaming experience is coming soon, you can currently play against celebrities.

That is, you can play against fictional celebrities.
Take a look at the in-game leaderboard. This is where you stand in your game-play, earning points for your house. If you take a look at the fictional characters on the list, you’ll see some extremely familiar names. One of those is Emma Watson, best known as Harry Potter’s Hermione Granger. Owen Wilson was also spotted by one player.

It looks like Jam City is just having some fun with the leaderboard. So far, the names just look randomly generated to give you something to compete in while you wait for the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery multiplayer option. At least you can tell your friends you faced Owen Wilson and won! The more points you earn, the higher your house will rank in the game. It’s not entirely clear what you win if you continue to top the leaderboard, but bragging rights are certainly in order, right?
Can someone explain to me why @EmmaWatson is so bad at the new @HogwartsMystery ? pic.twitter.com/YRbb0tbDAD
