Romance will become a thing in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery currently takes fans through three years of the school, but future updates will open up the possibility of romance.
Love is not currently in the air in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. The latest Harry Potter game only takes players through the first three years of the school. Well, actually, it’s more like the first two and a bit years, taking players to around age 13. It’s not surprising that romance is not on the cards just yet.
However, Jam City, the developer of the game, has shared that future updates will see the romance opportunities to grow. That’s because in the future the game will extend to future years in the school and that’s about right for seeing teenage love bloom. After all, it was in the fourth book that love started to bloom for the characters in the story. That was when Hermione started to show some feelings for Ron and when Harry started dating Cho Chang.

So far, it’s not clear how the romance will bloom and whether there will be certain characters open to connect with. Game Rant suspects that Slytherin bully Merula will be opened up for romance, but there could be other characters created specifically for love in the future years.
Players have had to make choices on the friends they take on certain quests and challenges. This could certainly open the opportunity for love between certain characters along the way, dictating who will be available to make the gaming experience more unique and personalized. The romance journey could also be similar to the wand selection, where you need to answer a question and that sets you on a specific path.

This is all further down the line, of course. Right now the characters are between 11 and 13, so it’s not the time to think about love interests. But romance is coming to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery and now could be the time to think about which journey you want to go on.
