A key city in Game of Thrones may not have given up the fight in season 8 just yet, at least according to new photos from Belfast.
Warning: The purpose of this article is to discuss the latest Game of Thrones season 8 filming spoilers. We don’t know if we can make it any more obvious.
For something that should be fairly obvious, the attack on King’s Landing and its production for Game of Thrones season 8 have started to become a bit more confusing than we may have initially expected. Granted, we really shouldn’t be surprised by the development though. After all, this is the culmination of several years of trying to hide secrets from fans.
That hasn’t stopped us from discovering new photos — and a video — over on r/freefolk. As with our other most recent discussion of spoilers, it concerns what looks like it might be some sort of rehearsal or otherwise testing out what it’d look like for a presumptive attack or conquering of the city.
Check out the video below:
"Video of the archers on the tower from freefolk"
Standing up on that tower looks really miserable.
And meanwhile, here’s the pretty self-explanatory photo.
"Archers on the left tower!!!!!! from freefolk"
Here are some more details from the original poster in the photo thread. First up, there was “an army” shouting. They believe that it was Lannister archers on top of the towers because the actors were wearing “red skirts.”
Seems like pretty conclusive evidence Cersei won’t just hand over the Red Keep without a fight, at least to us — even with the missing banners from the other recent King’s Landing pics. That doesn’t seem like it should need further confirmation. When it comes to figuring out the plot of a season we won’t see until next year, we’ll take all the evidence we can get to get the most accurate picture possible.
