Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Back from the dead, perhaps?

Wait a second, did Game of Thrones season 8 just have a major spoiler dropped by none other than a member of the cast? Things just got a little wacky.

Everyone take a deep breath before you go further. Yes, we know, we just warned you about Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers. But this could be potentially major, as our sister site Winter is Coming has already explained.

Basically, if you recall, one of Bran’s major discoveries in season 7 was that Rhaegar Targaryen married his aunt, Lyanna Stark, both making Jon Snow legitimate and also a Targaryen. (It also makes Jon’s relationship with Daenerys incestuous, which is really just par for the course for Targaryens.)

And now, Wilf Scolding has made a triumphant return …

To Belfast.

As you can imagine, most of the Instagram comments are about the potential for flashbacks in season 8. As far as we know, Bran can’t take anyone back into the visions with him — but maybe, if the plot demands it, he’ll figure out the trick. After all, Jon probably has some potential for magic between his Targaryen and Stark bloodlines, so perhaps Bran will send him a dream of Rhaegar and Lyanna much like the Three-Eyed Raven once appeared in a younger Bran’s own dreams.

However, as both WiC and we would like to disclaim, this doesn’t mean that this is all actually happening. After all, Belfast is a big city. However, because Rhaegar is still plot-relevant in season 8 (it’s the last name, really), it’s hard not to suspect that something a bit more is going on than a casual jaunt off to Northern Ireland.
