Will & Kate’s third child named after three Weasleys

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s third child has finally been given a name and it looks like the Royals are Harry Potter fans.

William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have finally named their third child. Prince George and Princess Charlotte will be welcoming their little brother, Louis Arthur Charles. It turns out that the Royal Family must be fans of the Boy Wizard, as this bundle of joy has been named after not just one but three Weasleys.

Arthur and Charles are the most obvious two for “Harry Potter” fans. Arthur Weasley is the patriarch of the family, strangely curious with all things muggle, especially rubber duckies. He may be proud to hear that the royal baby has his name as a middle one.

More from Harry Potter

Charles is named after Charlie Weasley, the older brother of Ron that never appeared in the movies, despite being an important character throughout the books. It was an odd choice not to include him in the movies and it looks like the Royal Family hasn’t gotten over that so decided to bring Charlie to life.

Then there’s Louis Weasley, the one that many of you may have forgotten or overlooked at first. Louis is the son of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour, and takes on the French version of Ludovicus. Clearly, William and Kate haven’t forgotten about him and decided to run with it.

And the naming ran with the first two children. Prince George was named after the smart but relatively quiet twin, George Weasley. As for Princess Charlotte, well that’s the female version of Charles.

There you have it. The Royal Family are Potterheads…

Or it could be the fact that all those names run in the Royal Family lineage, but it’s fun to imagine them as devoted Weasley fans.
