GLOW

Nostalgia is the word for GLOW’s raucous and comprehensive ’80s soundtrack. If the spandex, leg warmers and feathered bangs aren’t enough to get your time machine whirring, one listen to this will take you back. And I mean way on back.

The fictional Netflix series GLOW follows the lives of real-life female wrestlers, the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (G.L.O.W.). The show stars at the sport’s beginning and features Allison Brie as the wide-eyed, try hard Ruth. Ruth (sort of) recruits her attractive, buxom and blonde frenemy Debbie (Betty Gilpin), and they train with other women to put on their first live show.

The sheer amount of training montages is good for the gamut of hair bands, but, just for good measure, GLOW throws in a little Pat Benatar to offset its Warrant and Quiet Riot. As true to the music as it is to the wardrobe and hair, this show is an ’80s baby’s dream.

This soundtrack will give you all those ’80s feels with tracks like “Walk Like an Egyptian,” “Eye of the Tiger,” “Africa” and “Kiss Me Deadly.” This could be your go-to soundtrack for the gym, the treadmill, or if you just want to get pumped while you sit in the parent-pick up line at your kids’ school.

Whether you’re old enough to associate certain memories with these songs, or are just a fan of the decade and its totally rad music, this soundtrack will scratch that itch.
