Stranger Things season 3 starts filming this week so watch out for the Mind Flayer

Stranger Things will start filming this week for its third season. The new season will go back to the eight-episode format, following a slightly longer season 2.
The next happens in Hawkins, Indiana, are bound to unfold this week. Though it’s too early to actually watch season 3 of Stranger Things, filming is certainly underway.
Per Collider, filming has been set to start Monday, April 23 for the next season of the Netflix series. For now, the cast has wrapped up the table readings for the first four episodes while the other four are yet to be completed.
Producer and director Shawn Lewy explained that after the initial table readings, production becomes quite a balancing act for the Duffer Brothers as they manage writing and directing the rest of the season.
“I’m once again directing the third and fourth episodes so that I can give the Duffers a breather, and send them back into the writing cave, so that they can buff out the rest of the season,” Levy said to Collider. As always, the Duffer Brothers will take on directing the “kick-off episodes,” as he puts it.
As for the future of Stranger Things? A fourth season should definitely be happening — even though that’s quite far down the line. And what about a fifth or sixth season? That’s yet to be known.
“Season 4 is definitely happening,” Levy confirmed. “There’s very much the possibility of a season beyond that one; that’s currently undecided.”
With production for the next season underway, we’ve already learned about new casting for the upcoming season. Cary Elwes, famously known as the Dread Pirate Roberts from The Princess Bride, and Jake Busey are set to join the cast. And, rightfully so, there will be more “Dad Steve” moments on the way, because that’s Steve we all deserve from this series.
