J.K. Rowling and Jessica Williams have revealed the exciting new character coming to Fantastic Beasts 2.

In case you missed it over the weekend, J.K. Rowling finally confirmed one of the new characters in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The new additions have been closely guarded secrets for some time, although we did know that Jessica Williams would play one of them. Now Williams’ character has been revealed, in a fun reveal from the actress and the “Harry Potter” author.

During the intermission of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’s opening night at the Lyric Theatre, the two shared that Williams will play Professor Eulalie Hicks, who is also known as Lally. However, don’t expect too much from this character in the upcoming movie. We’ll get to learn more about Professor Eulalie in the third movie, which won’t be released until at least next year. It’s not often Rowling shares snippets from future installments, so this is exciting.

More from Harry Potter

What we have learned is that Professor Eulalie (Lally) Hicks is one of the professors at the North American version of Hogwarts, the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. We also know that she’s “the most democratic” and “least elitist” at the school, but we don’t yet know what she teaches. That’s something hopefully the second movie will share, before the third movie goes into more detail about her character and origin story.

Williams is a huge “Harry Potter” fan and has even addressed some of the questions about the apparent apparition into Hogwarts’ grounds. Many fans were quick to point out that that was impossible in “Harry Potter,” but Williams shares that since the Fantastic Beasts movies have been penned by Rowling, this isn’t something that will be overlooked. We’ll learn all about the possibilities in the upcoming movie. That’s what we expected here at Wizards and What Not, but we are relieved to hear that.
