The Strangers – A surprising connection to the star’s dad

The Strangers is back in the news again, thanks to the recent sequel The Strangers: Prey at Night. But we’re going to look at the original 2008 film instead, because who doesn’t love an original?

That would be suspicious to anyone, but what they didn’t expect was for three masked strangers to invade their home and spend the night violently attacking them for pure pleasure.

The film isn’t based on real events, which many people seem to think, but director Bryan Bertino said it’s partially based on an incident he experienced as a child. A stranger came to their door asking for someone who wasn’t there, then left. Later that night, other homes in his neighborhood had been broken into. No masked psycho murderers, though.

Now, putting the horrific events of the film aside here’s a fun fact that isn’t as dark as most of the other ones on this list. Liv Tyler’s father is Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, as most of us know. But before Tyler was in Aerosmith, he was in another band as a teenager. That band was called The Strangers.
