Who doesn’t love a good horror movie? Sometimes, knowing what goes on behind the scenes makes a film less scary, but in some cases, real life is scarier than fiction.

Horror movies have been a staple at the box office for decades, and they’re not going anywhere any time soon. It turns out, people love to be scared, horrified, and even disgusted. And that primal craving for fear and disgust has generated an entire industry of movies, from slasher flicks to psychological thrillers.

There are some really bad horror movies, but usually, even the bad ones are good. On this list, we’re exploring some of the scariest movies in history, and even a couple of instant classics that only hit the cinemas recently. Some of these films left hints about the big reveal throughout the movie that you never realized, and others had connections to real-life murderers.

Maybe some of the scariest details are the curses that are believed to be attached to some of the movies, which took a toll on the cast members.

Beware, you might get goosebumps reading this list. We’re not responsible for any nightmares, either. You’ve been warned.
