Morgan Matson, the author of the beloved Since You’ve Been Gone and The Unexpected Everything, will also be releasing a new novel just in time for summer. In line with Matson’s previous works, Save the Date is a quirky coming of age story, chock full of drama and romance.

As per the synopsis on Goodreads, the novel is centered on Charlie Grant as she attends her older sister’s wedding. The occasion is a special one; it’s the first time in years that Charlie will spend time with all of her siblings together. It also precedes some major changes in her life – from moving away from her childhood home to heading off to college.

Charlie is determined to make the weekend a perfect affair, but the universe seems to have other plans in mind. When chaos strikes, Charlie is forced to come to terms with the fact that things are not quite what they used to be. And just maybe, that’s a good thing.

Save the Date is available on June 5. Matson’s books always make amazing beach reads, and it’s unlikely this release will be any different. After all, who doesn’t love reading a good family drama while working on their tan?
