Ever wonder how Stranger Things could get any better? Well, throw Cary Elwes and Jake Busey into the mix and Hawkins is about to get a lot more interesting.

Stranger Things continues to be a big topic of conversation even months after the second season premiered. Why, you ask? Well, the cast just expanded by adding two legends! Cary Elwes, the beloved Dread Pirate Roberts from The Princess Bride, and Jake Busey will join the Hawkins kids.

While Jake Busey (son of actor Gary Busey) is an incredible addition, we’re going to focus on Cary Elwes. The beautiful Westley stole many of our hearts as children and has since taken a back road in his acting career. The addition of him to the Stranger Things cast not only brings Elwes back into the limelight but also follows the trend from last season.

Are they now going to add an ’80s icon into every season of Stranger Things? Because, if so, that isn’t exactly something we’ll be mad about. First, Sean Astin joined the cast as Joyce’s boyfriend and, while nerdy and goofy, became a fan favorite. Probably because he was Sean Astin.

So who exactly are these two new additions to the Hawkins community? While at an event in Rome, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos spoke about the upcoming season for Stranger Things and the new cast additions.

Sarandos confirmed that Elwes will be Mayor Kline, described as “handsome, slick, and sleazy… classic ’80s politician.” Busey will play a journalist for The Hawkins Post named Bruce who has “a sick sense of humor and questionable mores” according to Netflix.

Despite Elwes being set to play a villain, I’ll still be screaming “AS YOU WISH” repeatedly at my television screen when he shows up.

Adding cast members like this to the hit Netflix show is exactly what makes fans come back each season, along with the very weird storyline. It brings back what we love most about the ’80s and doesn’t feel manufactured at all.

The show reminds us of a time when everyone was just a little bit nerdy in their love of movies and video games — what a time it was to be alive, right?
