4. Janelle Monae

It’s impossible to imagine that there’s anyone left in the world still sleeping on Janelle Monae. In addition to her incredible and progressive music, she’s already proved she’s a wonderful actor. From Hidden Figures to Moonlight, it’s a wonder she doesn’t get more work.

Not only she should star in more, she should also get a lead blockbuster, because we all deserve to see Janelle Monae kick some serious ass. She’ll be stylish, resourceful and extremely inclusive, almost like her own version of Wonder Woman. In fact, let’s assume that Monae would’ve made an excellent Diana Prince, too.

There are many characters between DC Comics and Marvel that Monae could be, like Vixen or Bumblebee. She could even pick up the mantle of Selina Kyle/Catwoman, who has been rebooted almost as many times as Batman and deserves a fair shot at big-screen glory, too. Or she could become Zatanna, a character whose personality would match very well with how Monae carries herself in real life.

Perhaps, the very best choice for her, though, would be as the next Storm. Sure, the X-Men films have tried this a couple of times. But given the success of Black Panther, who eventually marries the character, it may be time to re-introduce her.

At least, if the Fox/Disney thing goes through.
