Tonya Harding just created an Instagram account and we wonder how wild things will get

Tonya Harding has been making quite the comeback. So is it a surprise that she now has an Instagram?

With the premiere of I, Tonya, it has forced Tonya Harding back into the limelight. A place she truly loves to be in, Tonya has seemingly embraced the celebrity aspect that has been placed upon her once more. This time in the shape of a turn on Dancing With the Stars.

It is interesting seeing as many of the competitors this year are figure skaters, but more so that Tonya is one of the biggest gets. There is a lot of controversy surrounding her return to fame because she, famously, was banned from figure skating because of the knee-breaking of Nancy Kerrigan during the 1994 Olympics.

So why are we talking about her Instagram? Because it is absolutely wild and it only has one post.  Tonya has always been a character, that’s what we loved watching her skate. It is also the reason why I, Tonya worked so well. Without an out of this world personality like Tonya, none of that controversy would have stuck.

One of the first Instagram stories she shared on the platform was of her and DWTS trainer Sasha Farber preparing for their first dance. So maybe we’ll get more behind-the-scenes looks at her dance routines before they air.

But lucky for us, this return has made a social media splash and we get to see her attempt to navigate an Instagram account. There’s a part of me that wants them to let Tonya run it herself. I have a feeling it will be to the likes of Carrie Fisher or Cher on Twitter.

The reality is that the social media team of Dancing with the Stars is probably going to be in charge of it, but a girl can hope that Tonya Harding shares some of her weird thoughts on Instagram. Who knows, maybe we’ll get I, Tonya 2: Dance Fever out of this adventure!
