Adam Whitely/Felicia Jollygoodfellow (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert)

Time for another drag queen!

Adam Whitely, known on stage as Felicia Jollygoodfellow, can be a bit of a handful. In The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Felicia is the younger drag queen that Mitzi and Bernadette bring along with them on their trip through the Australian outback on their bus, dubbed Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. She’s definitely the one who stirs up trouble.

Not only does she incessantly irritate Bernadette, the older, trans-identifying queen, but she also gets herself into quite a bit of trouble. At one point on their journey, while in a small, narrow-minded town in the middle of nowhere, Felicia insists on going out in full drag, looking for a drink. At first, she is swarmed by men who probably think she’s just a very handsome woman, but of course, Felicia isn’t one to be subtle.

Eventually, they find out Felicia is, in fact, a man in drag, and things get out of hand. She gets chased and almost mutilated by the gang of men before getting saved by Bernadette. This is one of the only times in the film we actually get to see some genuine emotion out of Felicia, and that’s when we realize she’s still just a person with insecurities deep down.

But as annoying as Felicia may be, she still knows how to have a good time, and to look on the bright side. After their bus is vandalized with homophobic slurs, Felicia spends an afternoon repainting the whole bus purple to cover up the graffiti. She’s even adorably sweet to Tick’s son when they finally meet him towards the end of the movie.

Also, Felicia is a huge ABBA fan, to the point of being a little too obsessed. But who could ever hate ABBA? Anyone who’s a superfan of the iconic Swedish group is okay in our books!
