Darth Vader

As you might expect, there were a lot of Darth Vaders (Darths Vader?) at C2E2. But there were very few Darth Vaders who were actually tall enough to have the Dark Lord of the Sith’s imposing mien down pat. (Canonically, Vader in his armor is about 6’7″.) This photo came towards the end of a day, when I was getting ready to leave. However, when a great cosplayer is nearby and you want to take their picture, you apologize in case they’re tired, and if they say you can take their photo, then you still take their photo.

Rey and Poe

It’s easy to put on a Rey costume, but putting on the headdress and having the staff ready to go is another thing entirely. Of course, it’s a little easier to dress up as Poe Dameron, since he’s got a very simple Rebel look about him — even if he’s part of the Resistance. Still, I appreciate these two for their willingness to let me stop them towards the end of a day. (Behind them is actually the entrance to the show floor.)

Padmé Amidala

As a Star Wars costuming aficionado, I couldn’t believe that someone would go for one of Padmé Amidala’s most beautiful — and most deceptively simple — outfits from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. But she did, and it looked absolutely great. Don’t let the draping deceive you: there’s a lot of fabric involved in this one.
