Heroes and Harry Potter: How we view those characters we love

Our heroes can be anything from a super soldier to a boy who lives in a cupboard under the stairs. So we’re comparing some of our favorites to Harry Potter!

Heroes have a varying definition. They can be someone you look up, someone who saves the day, or the Avengers. It just depends on what you view as a hero and I truly think that Harry Potter belong among the greatest of them.

When you think about it, Harry is actually more powerful than Captain America. Sure Cap is a super soldier but Harry has magic. What is Cap going to do when Harry throws a spell his way other than pray his shield can deflect it?

I think because Harry is just using a wand, a lot of the time he’s not thought of as being a hero. But if you stop and think about how old he is and what he’s had to go through before even turning eleven, Harry has the perfect tragic backstory to rival even Bruce Wayne.

With the influx of superhero content in the world, I think we forget that characters like Harry are also considered heroes. They’re wonderfully complex characters with lives and powers but that doesn’t mean that someone like Harry can’t be among them.

After all, he technically has a power since he can use magic (and it is established in Harry Potter that not everyone can). So could there ever be some crossover? No, probably never, but we can dream of the day that Captain America looks at Harry Potter and says some lame line.

Next: Does Harry Potter ever leave the actors? Or are they stuck forever?

So whoever your heroes are, just make sure to cherish them and look up to a good one. We all need happiness in the world and if that happiness is watching a superhero movie or re-reading the Harry Potter series, go do it.
