Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set to break records on Broadway!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is being labeled as one of the most successful Broadway openings of all time. But does that surprise anyone?

When it came to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child coming to Broadway, absolutely no one was surprised it was a success. And if you were surprised, were you living under a rock? The show had a wildly successful run on the West End before transferring over to the Great White Way with the original cast.<

Now that the is still in previews, reports are coming out that it will be the most profitable opening on Broadway. Again, not surprising news. The show has been highly anticipated and trying to get tickets has been impossible.

All these reports make me feel like I’m living in some dystopian world where people didn’t think it would be a huge deal. It is Harry Potter. When isn’t sold out and impossible to get tickets to? Even Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was hard to get tickets to that first weeked.

There is a part of me that is so proud this show is doing so well but then a bigger part of me is angry because it means I’m never going to be able to get tickets to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. With all the drama surrounding the ‘fan verification’, it made getting tickets to the virtually impossible and now we’re all still struggling.

So will we ever see this show? Who knows but in the meantime, we can all appreciate the fact that Cursed Child is doing wonderfully here in the states! Maybe this will mean we can finally get A Very Potter Musical to hit the Broadway stage.
