If you’re in or visiting Stockport, you’ll want to grab a butterbeer from the first Harry Potter-themed café in the area.

Stockport finally has a Harry Potter-themed café, and it’s affectionately named the Owl’s Nest Bakery and Bistro. It’s already seen lines out the door since it’s opening last week, and now fans from all around the world are planning a visit. You can sit down, grab a butterbeer, try a chocolate frog, and just relax with friends.

This has been a multiple-part initiative to bring Harry Potter to life in the Northern English town. Located in Greater Manchester, the first stage was to open Hoot, the only store with authentic Harry Potter clothing and items. Find Rowena Ravenclaw’s lost diadem or buy your own wand. When you have them, take them next door and immerse yourself in the world of Harry Potter.

Darren Dalby Oldham and his partner Keith run the two spaces. One of the features they’ve put on for the fans is a Wizard Afternoon Tea, which costs just £10.50 and features sandwiches, cakes, a chocolate frog, and a drink.

The butterbeer is the thing makes people want to try. It’s less than £5 and involves their own secret recipe. Everything in the café is freshly handmade, even the process of tempering the chocolate! It’s a labor of love for trained-chef Keith. He even sourced the moulds, so he could make sure the chocolate frogs were made fresh—no Freddos here!

There are more plans to expand in the future. One of those is to create a dining room within the café, with long banquet tables and candles making you think you’re at Hogwarts.

The best part of the café ad shop is that it’s all non-profit. The owners operate as a charity, with all money raised for Shopmobility Stockport.
