Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi released their blooper reel today but one important thing stuck out. Carrie Fisher slapped Oscar Isaac over 40 times.

With the release of Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi on DVD, fans are anxiously waiting to relive the journey Rey and her friends take to bring back Luke Skywalker. So why is everyone focusing on the blooper reel as of recently?

Well maybe because Carrie Fisher, the late actress who portrayed Princess Leia, slaps Oscar Isaac over 40 times on it. It is a strange thing to see for a Star Wars film since “bloopers” were never really our main interest. (They’d been featured in the bonus features before but it seems as if these were different because of the circumstances.)

Entertainment Tonight shared an exclusive peek at the blooper reel.

Really though, who wouldn’t enjoy being repeatedly slapped by Carrie Fisher? The actress became an icon. Not just for her portrayal of Leia but for her personality. We all love Carrie and everything she chose to be. But no one loved her more than Oscar Isaac.

It is clear that even through the many slaps, Oscar (much like his character Poe) adores he, making it all pretty heartwarming.

Obviously this cast knows how to have fun. Then again, they were filming Star Wars so what’s not to love? For fans, it is nice to see the lighthearted side of the series alive and well with its cast.

So often these movies can be dark and upsetting so to see Daisy Ridley and John Boyega laughing reminds us that this series brings us a special kind of joy.
