We didn’t think this one needed to be pointed out to people, but apparently, a lot of you still don’t know that Rihanna’s real name isn’t Rihanna. It took some fans a minute to figure that out.

The moment a lot of people realized what Rihanna’s real name is was when she launched her beauty brand, Fenty Beauty. People questioned “why Fenty?” before realizing that was the singer’s last name, and then that brought about another realization: her first name isn’t Rihanna. It’s Robyn.

Yup, it’s Robyn Rihanna Fenty. She hasn’t really given a reason for opting to use her middle name, although it’s pretty common practice in Hollywood. However, family and friends still affectionately call her Robyn, and she seems to like it that way.

“I get kind of numb to hearing Rihanna, Rihanna, Rihanna,” she told Rolling Stone. “When I hear Robyn, I pay attention.”
