Dido (Florian Cloud De Bounevialle Armstrong)

Nobody really talks about Dido anymore, but with a name like this one, we had to include her. Most people probably remember Dido best for her collaboration with Eminem on the song “Stan.” But if she had gone by her real name professionally, surely nobody would have ever remembered it!

Dido’s full given name is Florian Cloud De Bounevialle Armstrong. That’s a mouthful! The singer was called Dido her whole life, and recognizes that as her real name, but struggled a lot with it growing up.

“To be called one thing and christened another is actually very confusing and annoying,” she said in an interview in 2001. “It’s one of the most irritating things that my parents did to me. I’m still irritated by it.”
