The 13 Ways You’re F*cking Up Your Job Search by Adam A. Anderson

What do alpaca dung, Elder Gods, and trash talk have in common? Your career, and the many ways you’ve been f*cking it up during your job search.”

Those are the opening lines of the synopsis for The 13 Ways You’re F*cking Up Your Job Search.

Yeah, this book is a lot of fun, and also seriously helpful for anyone searching for a job or looking to fix up their resume (no need to pay a professional). This writer personally used it to fix up my own resume, with fantastic results.

Adam A. Anderson is a pen name for “a very tired, extremely foul-mouthed CPRW and career coach paddling around somewhere in the Pacific Northwest,” making him an expert in the field he’s coaching in. That means he’s someone you want to listen to.

Adam deconstructs all of the myths and bad practices that have floated around the universe about your resume and your job hunting process in less than 300 pages.

“And if he insults you a few times in the process?” the synopsis asks and answers itself. “You’ll thank him for it once you’ve learned the 13 ways you’re f*cking up your job search—and the dozens of ways you can improve your prospects on the job market.”

While most books about job hunting and resume writing are saccharine, Adam’s advice is pointed and pulls absolutely none of its punches — even when it talks about Adam’s own experiences that messed him up.

If The 13 Ways You’re F*cking Up Your Job Search stands out to you, and we don’t see how it wouldn’t, you can pick up a copy for yourself on Amazon, and it’s also available on Kindle Unlimited.
