Happy Birthday Timothy Spall!!!

Known amongst Potter fans as Peter Pettigrew or Wormtail, Timothy Spall is celebrating his birthday today.

Peter Pettigrew, also known as Wormtail. Best friends to Sirius Balck, James Potter and Remus Lupin. One of the Mauraders of the Maurauder’s map during his time at Hogwarts. At the height of the first Wizarding War Peter was a member of the Order of Phoenix and fought against Lord Voldemort.

However, Peter soon turned defector and became a spy for Lord Voldemort. He betrayed both Lily and James Potter as Secret-Keeper, revealing their location hidden by the Fidelius Charm. This betrayal resulted in Lily and James death at the hands of Voldemort but was also resulted in the initial fall of Voldemort when he attempted to kill Harry.

After the fall of Voldemort, Peter framed Sirius for the mass murder of muggles. Sirius went to Azkaban prisoner for the murders and suspected of betraying Lily and James Potter. Peter then went into hiding, assumed dead, in his Animagus form as Scabbers the rat.

It was twelve years later when Peter was discovered after Sirius escaped Azkaban. He then fled again and sought out Voldemort and helped him rise to power for the second time. Peter died in the basement of the Malfoy Manor when he showed hesitation and mercy towards Harry.

Timothy Spall portrayed the infamous Peter in the Harry Potter movies and while his character was not exactly the most loved. His character was anything but uninteresting and unnecessary. Spall played him up until the final instalments of the movie franchise when Pettigrew was killed off.

Since his time in the Wizarding world, Spall has remained extremely busy as an actor and celebrates his 61^st birthday today.

Spall has appeared in a variety of movie and TV during his time on Potter and has remained just as active afterwards. Appearing in the likes of Mr Turner, Blandings, Denial and many more productions. TV documentaries have also been part of Spall’s life since Potter and has won a few award as well. He won the Best Actor Award for his performance in Mr Turner during the Cannes Film Festival.
