Learn to be a wizard like Harry Potter this summer

Summer 2018 will bring the chance to go to wizard school just like Harry Potter, and you don’t have to wait for a letter from an owl.

No acceptance letters needed, although tickets are. This Harry Potter wizarding school in Musselburgh, East Lothian is open to Muggles, goblins, giants and more. Whether you’re 11-years-old or wish you were still 11-years-old, there will be something for you to do, learn and enjoy.

However, there is a catch. It’s only open for a weekend, so you better get your ticket now!

Loretto will become a School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for a weekend

Loretto in Musselburgh will open for the weekend as a special School of Witchcraft and Wizardry event. It will take place on the Pinkie Campus, where you’ll get the chance to try your hand at Quidditch, eat chocolate frogs (if you can catch them!) and learn how to wand duel. All the classes and experiences are inspired by the Harry Potter series, penned by the marvellous J.K. Rowling.

And if that wasn’t enough, there’s going to be a few special stars from the movie franchise. Sally Mortemore will attend as Madam Irma Pince and Josh Herdman, who played Goyle, will be there to greet young and old fans.

A special thanks to Fiona Quilietti

Fiona Quilietti is just a parent at the East Lothian school, but was inspired by the gates to organize the summer event. She felt like she was stepping into Hogwarts when she walked through the doors and found herself thankful that the books have encouraged the use of imagination everywhere in life.

The weekend School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will take place in Pinkie House, which is a 400-year-old building on the school grounds. It’s a hidden gem that will be opened up to those who have tickets.
