Harry Potter and the Cursed Child snaps up not one, but two awards

The two-part stage play won awards for Best West End Show and Best Show Poster

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is preparing itself to debut on Broadway and while there has been talk of nerves behind the curtain, that should have all disapparated now as they picked two awards at the WhatsonStage awards. One for Best West End Show and the another for Best Show Poster.

The fan-voted awards show saw the theatre production, which is set 19 years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and follows the adventures of Harry, now a Ministry of Magic employee, and his son Albus Severus Potter, who is about to attend Hogwarts, pick up the two awards.

It adds to the list of success

Hosted at the Prince of Wales Theatre on Sunday evening. Cursed Child star, Jamie Glover, Tom Aldridge and Rakie Ayola, who play Harry, Ron and Hermione respectively attend the show. They accepted the award at the time. Other co-stars of the production were in attendance as well.

This award just adds to the list of success that the Cursed Child has already seen on the West End circuit. Expectations are high for the Broadway production which is hoping to see similar success as it did on the West End. Previews for the stage production begin on March 16th.
