This Country Version of Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” Will Make Your Day
By Kara Johnson
If you really thought the old Taylor Swift was dead, you thought wrong. She may be dead in “Look What You Made Me Do” but the country Taylor is very much alive in this version of “Shake It Off.”
A short clip of the country version of “Shake It Off” surfaced on Twitter today, and we must say we are obsessed, and it’s certainly making us miss the country Taylor. In fact, it’s giving us flashbacks of her curly hair, sundresses, cowboy boots and her first big hit “Tim McGraw”.
The song may be the first sample of what we would get from 1989, but the country version is far from anything we’d ever hear on the album. It’s as country as Taylor can get and we promise that you will love it just as much as we do. Horns and a pop beat aren’t as existent in this version as the other one, but it’s still very much Taylor Swift.
The question is, would this version make the top of the charts just like the pop version did? We think so. It’s catchy, fun, and it gives us a nostalgic vibe of the Taylor that made us fall in love with her in the first place. You can listen to the short clip below:
