A Gryffindor is such because they want to be one

Gryffindor is a house for the brave at heart. Or, in actuality, it is a house full of people who wanted to be in Gryffindor and so, by nature, they were in that house.

A Gryffindor is a Gryffindor because they want to be one. Simple as that. And as a Gryffindor, I feel comfortable saying that. We are part of a house that is meant for the brave at heart. So when you breakdown why Gryffindors are the way that they are, their desire to be in that house makes them, in fact, brave.

Look at it this way, if you sneak into the Slytherin common room, does that not, by nature, make you cunning and therefore give you Slytherin qualities? So apply that same philosophy to the Gryffindors.

We are a proud group who want to be brave and want to fight along side the best wizards in the world. And that desire makes us, in turn, exactly what a Gryffindor is supposed to be. I don’t necessarily think this is the case with any of the other houses either.

You can’t really will yourself into being in Ravenclaw. It is either you’re smart or you are not. Slytherin, you either have the skills and willpower to be a part of the house or you don’t. Gryffindors though, we have to want to be in our house to be a part of it. And I honestly think that is a very special quality we all possess. We want to be there and therefore, we are part of a community.
