As if by magic the Lyric Theatre has been transformed!!!

Magic has come to New York as the Lyric Theatre is transformed in preparation for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.  A marquee has been erected outside the Broadway theatre for the London smash hit stage production which is scheduled to open at the theatre soon.

Based on the story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child picks up 19 years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows took place. Presented in two parts, the play was a huge success in London’s West End and has become widely anticipated for its arrival to New York City.

In anticipation of its arrival the Lyric Theatre has gone through renovations and now a marquee has been erected outside.

Both Jamie Parker and Noma Dumezweni will reprise their role as Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. The pair won awards for their performances in the West End production. The role of Ron Weasley is to be played by Paul Thornley.

More from Harry Potter

Other West End veterans who will be making the journey to reprise their roles are Sam Clemmett as Albus Potter and Poppy Miller as Ginny Potter, Alex Price as Draco Malfoy and Anthony Boyle as Scorpius Malfoy.

Getting tickets for the production has become a big headache for many fans. With so much success in the West End tickets have sold out fairly quickly from the moment they have gone up on sale. Further Tickets are to become available but it is a, “as and when they become available” type scenario.
