Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is transforming New York City
The Lyric theater has never looked better as Harry Potter and the Cursed Child begins to make its claim on the New York theater scene. And we’re excited.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is hitting Broadway soon and they’re taking over the Lyric theater. And, much like the London production, it seems as if the outside of the theater is getting a makeover as well.
Fans can see the transformation taking place if they head to the 42nd street theater. Right now, it doesn’t look like too much but we’re excited to see what happens as the production continues to develop.
The current problem with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway is that you can’t get tickets. Even if you’re verified and offered a slot, most are sold out. Why? Because sites like Stubhub and Ticketmaster somehow beat the system.
So while it was a great effort by the Harry Potter crew, their verification process didn’t really pan out. For those who aren’t aware, basically you had to go through a whole verification to be put on a list to buy tickets. From there, they’d offer you times to get your tickets and that was that.
The problem? The sites they were trying to avoid ended up getting verified and buying them anyway. So now the show is pretty much sold out (for cheap tickets at least) until 2019. So I guess you can see Cursed Child eventually. Maybe just in 2025 but still, you’d see it.
