When will Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald trailer be released?

How long until we get our first look at Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald?
Where is our trailer? Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is scheduled for release at the end of this year and we still have no trailer. How long do we have to wait until we get our first proper look at the upcoming film?
Production finished at the end of 2017. Alison Sudol, who plays Queenie Goldstein, made the announcement via their official Twitter page with a cute little GIF. So now that filming has wrapped up and the film is in the post-production phase a trailer should be imminent, right?

When might they release a Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald trailer?
A production company can release an official trailer, teaser or featured, anywhere from a year to a few weeks before its release. There is no set rule or standard for releasing a trailer, they just come out when they have them ready to go.
It doesn’t really matter at what phase of filming the movie is at either. Past movies have released trailers before production had even ended. Godzilla is a great example of this. Their trailer featured no actual scenes from the film itself as they had not finished production when they decided to release it.

On average, most production companies will release a trailer around six months at the earliest, but it’s usually a few months beforehand. Based on that we can ideally expect a Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald trailer sometime in May. September / October at the latest.

What do we have so far?
Thankfully we have plenty of media to keep us satisfied until then. Fantastic Beasts have been released plenty of official images during production. A first look clip was also released in November 2017. The clip shows the entire cast, in character, still as a picture and then coming to life. Just as pictures do in the Harry Potter world.
