Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: An avalanche arrives
A more expected character has arrived in a specific location for Game of Thrones season 8. Will it help us narrow down when things are happening?
Warning: Game of Thrones actors are out and about, and where they are can be a spoiler for you.
Game of Thrones season 8 has a lot going on right now, as our sister site Winter is Coming pointed out in its latest episode of Winter is Coming Live. As such, we figured the pun is appropriate on multiple levels for this latest set of spoilers.
Watchers on the Wall found this image on Instagram of Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, otherwise known as Gregor Clegane, otherwise known as the Mountain, otherwise known as Ser Robert Strong.
Check it out below:
Hey, it’s apparently a seafood restaurant that is “very good,” according to TripAdvisor. Besides, why not sample the local cuisine?
Anyways, it’s possible that Björnsson is just there for no reason at all. However, when we know that filming is also taking place there right now, it’s hard not to conclude that this isn’t a coincidence. That seems to suggest that the Mountain may be sharing screentime with Jon and Daenerys.
Again, that’s not the biggest surprise in the world. The Mountain is pretty intimidating, and Cersei is more than happy to let him loom over pretty much anyone who comes to pay her a visit. But, as we continue to see filming, it’s interesting that there aren’t any shots of Lena Headey in town. We joked earlier that Cersei might have to deal with the full Targaryen response, and now that we haven’t seen her at all, it seems worrisome.
So, the question is: Does Cersei die in season 8 before Jon and Daenerys arrive in King’s Landing? Does she perhaps die in the fire we know is coming? If so, does the Mountain survive somehow? This is something I’ve already thrown about — that the Dubrovnik scenes are for multiple episodes.

Headey’s unknown whereabouts lend credence to that theory.
