The city of Glasgow is to get its very own Harry Potter store

More from Harry Potter

A shop dedicated purely to the world of Harry Potter is coming to Glasgow. Currently, any fans of the wizarding world would need to travel as far as Edinburgh, which is almost from one end of Scotland to the other, in order to find a Potter-themed store.

Other stores do exist in the UK, the most well-known being in London, but Edinburgh is the closest to those living in or around Glasgow. But that will be of no more as of Saturday, 17th, February when the Glasgow based store opens. Fans of the wizarding world can then take the local bus to their nearest store rather than making the long and arduous journey to Edinburgh.

A project that has been in the works for some time now, it has finally reached the point of announcing an official opening date. Named ‘Clause 73’, it is located on Cresswell Lane near the University of Glasgow at the West End of the city.

Owned and operated by Wendy and Kenny McDermott. The couple made the announcement of the opening date by setting up a countdown timer via their official Facebook page. The pair has spoken in the past to the Evening Times regarding the store and highlighting the connection between Glasgow and Harry Potter.

"“Scotland has lots of connections to Harry Potter and we have found a few directly linked to Glasgow. It is our aim to put Glasgow on the Harry Potter Tourist Map.”"

The store is expected to be bursting with various licensed Harry Potter merchandise that will make any Potter fan want to pay a visit. Whether they are from or are visiting the great city.
