Season 2 of Netflix’s One Day At A Time is officially streaming, as are the tears down my face. Find out what we think are the best parts!

Season 2 of Netflix’s One Day At A Time is officially streaming, as are the tears down my face. Seriously, this season of this fabulous remake, which began airing on Friday, will have you in both happy and sad tears.

Viewers get to see a lot of growth for all of the characters in a lot of ways that really deepened this show to more than just a laugh out loud comedy. We also get to learn a lot about how these characters view really important social things like racism, becoming an American citizen, learning neopronouns, the current president, voting, et cetera.

Even though some of those things were used as the butt of a joke, it was never done maliciously, which was a very nice change.

One Day At A Time originally aired from 1975 to 1984, featuring a white divorced mother with two teenage daughters, who befriend their building’s super.

Netflix remade it, and did it well. Its first season aired last year on the streaming service, and changed the white family to a Cuban one and updating the story in a way that makes much more sense in the modern day. It features a full cast of fantastic Latinx actors, including the glorious Rita Moreno, who you might recognize from West Side Story, Justina Machado, Isabella Gomez and Marcel Ruiz, who truly needs no introduction. Of course we can’t forget Schneider and Dr. B, played by Todd Grinnell and Stephen Tobolowsky.

I’ve put together a slideshow of the parts of One Day At A Time that I think make it the great show that it is. Now, there will definitely be some spoilers in here, so I recommend clicking through after you finish binge watching the 13 episode season. I hope you’ll wind up agreeing with me!
