Man Crush Monday: Ben Platt’s beautiful (and a pretty good singer)

Ben Platt is a sweet guy who usually plays fun characters, but this week, he’s our Man Crush Monday. Why? Because his Grammy performance was beautiful!

Man Crush Monday is usually given to the hottest guy around, and this week, what’s hotter than Ben Platt singing West Side Story? At the Grammys, to honor Leonard Bernstein, Ben took to the stage to sing the classic “Somewhere” from the musical.

Now, to be quite honest, not everyone is into singers. I don’t happen to be one of those people. I love a guy with pipes. So when he took to the stage to sing, saying that “There’s a place for us”, I was a goner.

If you’re wondering to yourself “Who is Ben Platt?”, you probably don’t have a teenager in your life. Or you’ve not been paying attention to Broadway recently. The most recent recipient of the Best Actor in a Musical Tony Award, Ben was Evan Hansen in the hit musical Dear Evan Hansen.

You may also know him from the Pitch Perfect movies and Ricki and the Flash. But no matter how you know him, just know that his voice sounds like butter and reaches into your soul, making you feel things. Or just watch him living his best life in Ricki and the Flash where he continually screams about Meryl Streep because, honestly, it is really relatable.

Ben Platt is sweet, kind, caring, easy on the eyes and can sing you the phonebook. You’d probably be in love if he did. So is it a wonder that he’s our Man Crush Monday this week? Especially with a performance like “Somewhere” from West Side Story? No.
