20th anniversary Harry Potter books are getting a whole new look

The Harry Potter series is 20 years old and to honor that, they’re releasing the books with a whole new look. But do we want to say goodbye to the books we know?

When it comes to the Harry Potter series, we’re all particular about certain things. And now that the series is 20 years old, there are going to be new editions of the books coming out. New artwork to being a new decade. The question is: do we want new books?

Here’s the thing about reimagining the covers or the illustrated versions, they’re nice but they’re not what we grew up with. Which isn’t great to say. We should grow with the times but we know these books and what they’re meant to be.

We know when one is blue, it is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix or so on and so forth.

To be honest, they’re pretty but they give a little bit away. The patronus on the cover of Prisonder of Azkaban is pretty telling since that is a huge plot point throughout most of that book. But at the same time, I don’t want these.

I want to keep my original series and cherish them until I have kids and can pass them on. I don’t want them to have these new covers. Then again, I’ll buy pretty much anything Harry Potter so I might have these on my book shelves a lot sooner than I had planned. Because I will admit, they’re pretty nice to look at.
