Reading the Harry Potter series as an adult can make for fan envy

Not all of us read the Harry Potter books as kids but we know the story. Or at least, that’s what is happening to my best friend.

Growing up with Harry Potter is a very special thing. Especially when you have two best friends and you all three go to the midnight premieres together. The problem? Only two of us read Potter. One of my best friends would go with us to the movies and liked them but didn’t want to read the books.

At the time, we were annoyed but let her go back she’s our best friend. But now she’s reading the series for the first time and it is quite interesting. Not only because she’s reading them years after we have but because she is texting us about it like it is news to us.

Which is kind of fun. We’re reliving the series through her and she’s realizing all the information she’s missed out on because the movies left out what the books included. First, we thought she was insinuating that the movies were better and my other best friend and I shut that down but she continually talks about how exciting the series is.

It’s a nice thought to think about. There are people who are not completely in the dark about this series, they love it and they only know the movie universe. So it is nice to see someone going through the books and learning this story all over again.

Next: What if we used flying techniques to play Quidditch the way witches and wizards do?

Honestly, it makes me a bit envious. I wish I could go back and relive the story that I fell in love with. Instead, I’ll just keep reading the books over and over again and pretend like I don’t know it like the back of my hand. But hey, at least she’s having fun!
