Taylor Swift Throwback Thursday: The 1989 World Tour
By Kara Johnson
We love to relive as many Taylor Swift moments as we can but the 1989 World Tour is a moment we can’t help but reminisce about every day. It was a beautiful and magical masterpiece.
The 1989 era was unlike anything any Swiftie has experienced before. It was about finding freedom and finding yourself. The neon lights symbolized happiness, while the songs portrayed a story about loss and getting clean at the end of it all. There was nothing shy of incredible when it came to an incomparable era.
Swift was successful, yes, but most importantly, she and her fans found themselves in a season of growth and freedom. Together, they found each other and together, the conquered the world. The tour was the perfect example of this. Flashing lights, bright outfits and the smile on Swift’s face was what we all longed for and we happily received it.
From witnessing special guests like Keith Urban, Selena Gomez and Justin Timberlake to reliving these stories live, there was nothing quite like it in this day and age. Swift has the keen ability to share her stories with courageousness and vulnerability. When she speaks, it doesn’t seem like she’s speaking to a crowd of 50,000 but instead, it feels as if she’s speaking directly to you. And for a moment, all your troubles wash away and life feels like freedom.
This was the beauty of the 1989 World Tour and you can relive it all by watching it in its entirety below. It may not be the same as it was in person but it still will feel like freedom just like it was intended to be.
