Stranger Things star David Harbour makes good on his Twitter promise, and proves he’s awesome

When a fan on Twitter asked David Harbour to take her senior photos with her, he said it would take 25,000 retweets. Of course, she got 25,000 and more.

Whether you’ve been a fan of David Harbour since his obscure Brokeback Mountain days or the moment he got his butt kicked in The Newsroom, we’re all very lucky that Stranger Things gave him the opportunity to be front and center. While his starring roles continue to expand as he stars in the Hellboy reboot, we mustn’t forget just how cool this guy can really be.

Just as Stranger Things launched season 2, a fan on Twitter asked Harbour how many retweets it would take before he agreed to take senior photos with her. Harbour gave her a high number, but naturally, Twitter mobilized quickly to reach the goal.

According to Entertainment Weekly, it only took about a day to hit the goal of 25,000 tweets, and fan Damaris was aided by Harbour’s Stranger Things co-star Noah Schnapp (and people like myself).

When I originally retweeted it, I did it because I really wanted to see if Harbour would stick to it, and he did. Obviously, we’ve seen celebrities do things like this before, but the photos below kind of give us a little more of a behind-the-scenes look at how these things go down.

Take a look:

So with the Netflix shirt/crew, it looks like Damaris was sent to Harbour instead of Harbour actually appearing at her school, and they had a closed shoot. Of course, they followed the school’s guidelines, but since Harbour really went all-in and wore the sweatshirt/held the trombone (as promised), that’s really irrelevant. People at her school will still open up the yearbook and see David Harbour there no matter what.

Even though he graduated high school in like the early ’90s.

It’s just such a sweet gesture and we need more of this in the world.
