Golden Globes predictions: What is going to win in the movie categories

This isn’t really a competition. Why? Because sure, the other songs are great, and yes “This Is Me” is inspirational but nothing tears you apart more than “Remember Me” from the movie Coco. If you haven’t seen it, the film is about a boy who wants to play music but his family forbids it.

So he ends up in the world of the dead and he’s trying to meet his grandfather. The song is made famous by a musician and as the movie goes on, it becomes more and more heartbreaking. So yes, it is probably a little too depressing for most of us but that’s what makes it so brilliant.

It is a love song that a man sings to his daughter, one that transcends the world of the living and makes us feel something in our hearts. If you had a dry eye after seeing Coco, you should probably go talk to someone because this isn’t easy to watch without wanting to sob.

At the end of the day, I think that “Remember Me” will take home to the Golden Globe no questions asked. The only song that could take it instead would be “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman and it wouldn’t be deserved.
