6 tips to make your New Year’s resolution stick
Make sure it’s realistic
Make sure your goal works with your schedule and budget, and is something that you can realistically do on your own.
If you set goals that you know are unattainable in the long term, you’re even more likely to fail at them. Maybe set short term goals for every season, instead of a year-long one, if that would help you.
Do you want to save $1,000 this year? Split that up into paycheck by paycheck payments to make it look a whole lot less daunting. Make sure to add a buffer in, in case there’s a time when you can’t save. We all know that emergencies happen, and you have to be prepared for that. Do what you can to make sure you can still meet your goal.
Can you really afford that gym membership without causing problems elsewhere in your budget? Maybe try for some free activities at your local community center or school. Even walking around the neighborhood or doing push ups in your living room can be great exercise, and easy to do wherever you are.
You have to choose what the right path is for you and your resolution.
