RuPaul’s Drag Race

The premise: Drag Race is another reality competition show pitting performers against each other, forcing them to stand in front of a panel of judges. It’s not ground-breaking in its composition, although it might be the only competition featuring drag queens, but it’s definitely the only thing of its kind. The show focuses not only on the talent of the contestants, but their interpersonal skills, backstory, and willingness to amp up the snark in a pinch. It’s glorious.

Why it’s so good: There’s just so much to say about this show. It has everything you need from a reality show, and the fact that it features RuPaul is just icing on the cake. It showcases actual talent from it’s participants, fosters an understanding community, and provides countless GIF-worthy and quotable moments. It’s impossible to not find something to tweet or text your friend in every situation.

It also provides a second screen experience that makes it even more fun and rewarding to watch. It’s created a social media presence that makes interacting with other fans an endeavor all on its own. Contestants and hosts alike tweet along, so it’s impossible not feel connected to the show and it’s universe.

How to watch: You can watch seasons 1 through 8 at Logo.com, and catch up at VH1.com.
