The score is important to the Harry Potter series but what about a soundtrack?

There was one actual song in the Harry Potter series but what if there was an entire soundtrack? Would that enhance the experience or take away from the magic?

The Harry Potter series has one of the most beautiful scores out there. Many of us use it to relax and forget about our problems. But one thing the series doesn’t really have is a soundtrack. Yes, there is “O! Children” and the songs that the Weird Sister play at the Yule Ball but other than that, there isn’t really any music.

So what if the Harry Potter series had a soundtrack? To be quite honest, one of my favorite moments in the films is when Harry and Hermione dance to “O! Children” when they’re trying to track down the Horcuxes.

It was a simple moment and maybe it sticks out so much because it was a real song. With a series set around the score, those musical moments tend to stick out a bit more than the normal score moments. We remember their for their message and how powerful that song really is.

So would that change if we continually used songs with lyrics in the movies? Probably. It was so rare that when it did happen, it was incredible. So what would it be like to finally have a full soundtrack to listen to on repeat? Probably more of “O! Children” for us to cry about.
