While we wait for the upcoming fifth season to finally begin, here are five episodes from The 100 that can either suck a new fan in or suck an old fan back in, and offer them the best that the show has to offer.
While there is still no set date for when the fifth season of The 100 will begin airing, it is expected to premiere during midseason next year … as if we haven’t waited long enough.
Since its premiere in 2014, The 100 has been one of The CW’s most revered television programs, often categorized and compared to well-known sci-fi and post-apocalyptic classics (think Battlestar Galactica and Lost). With that said, the series certainly deserves all of the critical and popular praise it has been receiving.
Set in some indeterminate year in the future, a nuclear apocalypse has devastated the surface of Earth, with the only survivors being approximately 400 inhabitants of 12 national space stations that were in orbit at the time of the nuclear incident. The Emmy-nominated series chronicles the surviving population living on one remaining space station, called the Ark. 97 years post-nuclear apocalypse, 100 juvenile delinquents convicted of various crimes were sent back to Earth in hopes of repopulating the planet. Upon landing, however, they find that they are not alone.
What started out as another Hunger Games rip-off has evolved into one of the most sure-footed series on television. If you haven’t begun watching The 100 by now, we highly recommend that you get caught up on the show. If you don’t have time, or if you just want to rewatch some of the best ones but are unsure of which to choose, we’ve listed five key episodes essential to understanding the series and its characters. So, in preparation for the season 5 premiere, let’s enjoy these episodes featuring the Delinquents at their finest. WARNING: THERE ARE SPOILERS!
