Apparently Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD”is new this week. But at least we’ll get to see what Fitz has been up to in this upcoming episode.
Well, we all kind of called that Agents of SHIELD would hold out on a Fitz-centric episode for a little while. Or right before Christmas break. They even limited him to a post-credits stinger!
This week’s episode, “Rewind,” should give us an idea of what the heck Fitz has been up to while our other SHIELD compatriots are stuck in space in the future.
The official synopsis, courtesy of ABC:
"With the surprising help of Lance Hunter, nothing will stop Fitz from finding the lost team as his incredible journey is revealed."
I, for one, am incredibly excited for the return of Lance Hunter. His ridiculous Aussie humor and off-the-cuff remarks bode well for this upcoming season.
And since I can’t get Agent Triplett back from his failed Terrigenesis (I’m still not over it), I’ll settle for Hunter. Too bad Bobbi can’t come with him, as she’s stuck over on The Orville. I’m sure her fate will be explained (probably yet another falling out for the couple) in just a couple of sentences.
We should hopefully also see how exactly that postcard makes it to Virgil in the future. One has to think Fitz finds a way to the future (with or without Hunter), perhaps using Deke’s dad’s location on the surface. They can’t be stuck in space forever this season, so how long does it last? Through January?
There’s got to be a way out of the Lighthouse.
I also was not expecting Agents of SHIELD to have a new episode three days before Christmas. Most shows have gone on their Christmas breaks already, but not SHIELD!

Apparently we need all of the outer space shenanigans we can handle.
